God did great and marvelous things for us… We received it by believing. When you cannot or do not work in the light of God’s salvation, then you don’t really know who you are in Christ. I said some time ago that a King cannot live as a servant if he knows he is a king. No matter his humility, he will always walk and talk like a king. A believer who lacks love, affection, self control and other virtues doesn’t know who he or she is and they have not even believed on the power of God’s salvation. Believing doesn’t just mean to agree, it mean to agree, accept and hold on to it. The bible didn’t say we should just nod our head to the fact that Jesus died for the sins of the world! No, we are to take it personal, tell ourselves that Jesus died “for my sins. Therefore, I will live the new life I have received in Christ”. How can you receive gifts of new clothes and still decide to walk in rags? Is it not terrible?
Why worry when every good thing has been done for you? You don’t have to worry about your salvation, about heaven or hell and all those things! You don’t have to feel threatened when people announce that unbelievers will rot away in hell… All you have to do is to hold on to God’s promises and walk in the newness of the life you have received. I see… Anyone who worries have forgotten what has been done on the cross or they do not have the knowledge of the extent the sacrifice of Jesus went!
You can only remember things by putting your mind on them. You don’t just say “Oh, Jesus died for my sins”, you should remain dead to sin! It takes the conscious embedding of that truth in your mind to live as a saved person. When you find yourself in a bad situation, don’t look at that situation… Don’t look at doctors, news and economic reports! Don’t even mind your feelings… Don’t mind that voice that keeps condemning you for your past. Just keep looking at God’s word! Keep reminding yourself of the word of God, which is what renewal of the mind is all about.
Why is it important to always put people in remembrance of these things just as I am doing now? Peter knew that his people were already grounded in this truth but he keeps reminding them because he doesn’t want to give the devil any slightest chance!
You are saved! Always walk in that consciousness… When you are tempted to do wrong, remind yourself that you have been saved from those things and you cannot go back on it! It is like going to the toilet to deliver yourself from wastes and then you decide to go back and eat those things again. When you are in bad situations, always remind yourself that even before you encountered it, you have been saved from it! You will see yourself remaining thankful even in terrible things because even though you walk through the valleys of shadows of death, you shall fear no evil for the Lord is not just with you, the Lord is in you! Glory! What if you finally sinned? Get up from that sin and shake off those dusts, you have been saved from them and Jesus is your advocate, he is always speaking on your salvation!
You have every reason to live a victorious life!
Thank God, I am born again!
