The ELEV8 Tour – Building Christian Hip Hop in Nigeria. The Christian hip-hop culture is not widely accepted in the churches, streets and radio that should support because of the misconceptions people have held unto for a long time.
This reason among others moved DaBoomsha to address certain issues in his song “SMH” following which lot of steps were taken from creating an online community to private discussions which birthed the touring of five major cities in the Northern part of Nigeria namely Abuja, Kaduna, Zaria, Jos and Makurdi.
The Elev8 Tour was spearheaded by DaBoomsha, GAMiE, Nutty Josh, Protek, Oba Reengy and SoKleva of the Rooftop MCs. The mission was to take the gospel out to these towns and cities with the tool HIP HOP.
Apart from taking the gospel out via hip hop, the group also took out time to put smile on the faces of the less privileges as they visited some orphanages in the towns they toured. Moving in these cities and putting up a structure for the Christian hip-hop community in Nigeria, they also involved proven CHH acts in these cities.
What is the need of carrying the gospel out if not for the purpose of saving lost souls? While they moved out fostering unity amongst the CHH body and introducing Christian hip-hop to most of the communities where people never heard anything like that, a lot of souls were won and on one occasion, despite the rain being a hindrance they performed at a street concert and to God’s glory a man who had been a drug-addict surrendered to the utmost authority of Jesus and accepted to begin rehab with immediate effect.
Big kudos to the OG’s behind the tour, those sponsoring, supporting and partnering in various aspects, and to every CHH art keeping it real out there you’re the real MVP out there.
Let’s keep the love, fire, zeal and increase the unity bar and in no little time it’ll be a CHH TI TAKE OVER in the churches, streets, radio stations, et al.
