Assemblies of God Nigeria Suspends General Superintendent
News have it that the Assemblies of God Nigeria has suspended it’s general superintendent(GS) on the 4th of March 2020 over immoral acts.
Some years ago (2014 precisely) the former GS was suspended over financial mismanagement and it rocked the church with many problems that haven’t ended fully.
It is pain in our hearts that such should happen again.
But evidently, the Assemblies of God is not owned by one man but by a group of leaders so no one has autonomy.
It is said in AG, no one is above the law and constitution of the church.
Though many people have reservations about it as they say the moves were more political, some even argue that the evidences are too shallow. The tenure of the suspended leader was to end in 6 months and some argue that they should have just waited to save the face of the church.
It may have been some game of thrones. we have nothing to do but live with the judgement and pray for the church as it barely has recovered from the previous issue that rocked it.
May God help AG, Nigeria.
