Alleged music theft between Jackson Jones and Covenant Matthew

“Jackson Jones A.K.A Praise Marshal performed my song on stage and called it his”

This were the words of a budding Gospel Art named Covenant Matthews on a post he uploaded on Facebook on Monday,January 3rd,2020.

The young man claimed the song titled:EBUBEDIKE which is laced with a sample of Kiss Daniel’s rhythm from his track-Pemperimpe.

Comments and reactions continued to flood his timeline (as expected).

Surprisingly, as at the time one of TMC’s correspondent got through to Jackson Jones, he received the news with great shock, stating clearly, how he and his team spent time during one of their rehearsal sessions to lace the said rhythm with lyrics.

He also said he has not had any form of discussion as concerning the gospel version of the rhythm (as it were).

After due consultation, Jackson Jones in a bid to debunk the rumour and put things in clear perspectives, decided to first dialogue with Covenant Matthews but all efforts to get him talking on phone or have him come for a one on one meeting, proved abortive.

N/B: after the first three days of uploading the claim, Mr. Covenant Matthews went on to delete the post. An act considered to be a regret of his earlier action or a rethink in line with the thought of possible legal actions that could be taken by Jackson Jones (The Praise Marshal).

It is however worthy to note that Jackson Jones is a strong hold within the gospel music scene, especially from Port Harcourt and it’s expected that such claims will come in from time to time, especially from those who are either envious of his speed and elevation or are over ambitious and as such, would do anything to get at him and/or others who are true to the game like him.
